Brett Johnson, MS, CSCS, ACSM HFS Executive Director
Brett completed his undergraduate and graduate studies in Exercise Sports Science and Exercise Physiology at Texas Tech University. While completing his education, he worked for TTU in the Exercise Sports Science department under Dr. James Williams and Dr. Robert Sawyer. Brett has accumulated a high level of specific knowledge related to VO2 Max and Stress testing. He worked in the Lifestyle center at Covenant Medical Cardiac Rehab Clinic performing numerous clinical Stress Tests.
After the completion of this formal education Brett began working under Dr. Terry Shepherd learning advanced training principles, the application of advanced metabolic testing methods, and VO2 Max testing as they apply to the human body. This experience helped lead to the development of The HIT Center here in Austin. Brett also holds certifications as a Health/Fitness Specialist (ACSM HFS) through the American College of Sports Medicine, and a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) from the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
